The World Partnership walk is Canada’s largest annual event dedicated to raising funds and raising awareness to fight global poverty.
Organized by Volunteers across 10 Canadian cities, in 2010 nearly 40,000 Canadians came together to raise approximately $6 Million.
100% of funds raised are used by Aga Khan Foundation Canada to help alleviate poverty and build sustainable solutions in the poorest regions of the world. These funds support meaningful projects identified and implemented by local communities – projects that revitalize rural economies, ensure clean water and sanitation, strengthen community-based organizations and educate new generations of girls and women.
This Year the Team Members at Accent Inns Burnaby Hotel participated in raising funds to support this noble cause. As part of the fund raising campaign, a Hot Dog BBQ sale was held at the hotel. Team Members came together and volunteered their time and efforts to make this event a success and thus raising a whopping $486.
The Team Members also raised funds online, via sponsorship books totaling an additional $515 making the Grand Total of all Funds raised by Accent Inns Burnaby Team $1,001 exceeding the $1000 target set for the team by the World Partnership Walk Organizers.
A special thanks to Anita Fraess, Pam Chung, Lisa Wong and Rahim Rajabali for all your hard work, generosity and dedication, to Chance Fraess (Anita’s husband) who helped BBQ the Hot Dogs and Jansen Lim (Pam’s husband), whose company- Cat Rental Store North Vancouver so kindly donated the BBQ and Gas Tank that made the BBQ such as success. Sincere appreciation to all fellow Team Members who made donations and participated by purchasing Hot Dogs at the BBQ event. We are all very proud of our team members commitment to community.
