Accent Inns has had the distinct honour of working with the Vancouver Canadians Baseball club for several years now. Now that summer is here (no comments on the weather please) so are the “boys of summer”. Sure, sure it’s often heard that Canadians are hockey people but that’s only true part of the year. It’s time to get out of the arena and enjoy some incredible summertime entertainment. The Vancouver Canadians play at the Scotiabank field at Nat Bailey stadium. The stadium has been around since 1951 and hosting some of the best sports entertainment anywhere in the Pacific Northwest. The Vancouver Canadians are a minor league baseball team located in Vancouver, British Columbia. The C’s have previously affiliated with the Oakland Athletics between 2000-2010 but have become the Northwest League affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays. They are the only Canadian team in the “affiliated” minor leagues.(wikipedia) (more…)

Hot on the heels of my secrets to success blog post, here’s a random smattering of shortcuts and tricks of the trade that I often employ to help me get the most out of my day. Please note some of these are desperate measures and are not to be used daily!
For instance, the first one – Dry Shampoo – should only be used on occasions when you are really pressed for time or just can’t stand the thought of wash, rinse, repeat, blow-dry, style, hairspray routine. Just sprinkle this dry powder on the roots of your hair and voila! No need to shower, but maybe an extra layer of deodorant wouldn’t hurt. (more…)
Wow, what a year 2011 was for the Accent Inn team.
The year began with us launching the first ever hotel rewards for Pets, the “Pet Fee Free” card back in March. The response had people talking about it online from all over North America (not just Canada). Next, one of our Vancouver Airport team members, Zully, won a Tourism Vancouver award for his service. We went from the excitement for Zully to our founder, Terry Farmer, being awarded Tourism Victoria`s first ever Lifetime Member award, which really put a spring in our steps. (more…)

The holiday season is all about spending time with family. It’s also a great time to connect to the world around you, whether it’s decorating a tree that fills your house with the scent of the forest, celebrating the winter solstice or sledding in the snow. (more…)

Although I’ve lived in Victoria all my life, I’ve never had occasion to fly with Harbour Air to Vancouver before. Well I finally made the trip from Victoria’s beautiful inner harbour over to Vancouver’s, landing right in front of Canada Place and Stanley park.
1. The take-off and landing themselves are incredible. These planes can shoot up into the sky at a moment’s notice or land on a tiny piece of water, making them ideal for flights into harbours, inlets and small lakes. (more…)
