Mandy Farmer Finalist for Business Person of the Year
The Accent Inns family is proud to have our fierce and formidable President and CEO, Mandy Farmer, nominated for Business Person of the Year by the Greater Victoria Chamber of Commerce.
In case you don’t know, Mandy Farmer leads Accent Inns, our boastfully BC hotel chain with seven properties, five of which are Accent Inns and the other two being the ridiculously fun retro-chic Hotel Zed. Mandy birthed the concept of Hotel Zed three years ago in her hometown of Victoria and it was an instant hit.
A few of her recent accomplishments include her current #25 ranking in Profit Magazine’s Top100 Canadian Women Entrepreneurs, recently being named national Hotelier of the Year and her appointment as an Honorary Captain of the Navy affiliated with the Canadian Forces Base Esquimalt.
The most fascinating thing about Mandy is her vision and relentless drive for innovation in face of stern naysayers and disbelievers. She reinvented and restructured the way Accent Inns did business, driving significant profit and cost savings as a result. She is the epitome of her brand’s motto, “Different in a Good Way,” and rides her bike to work every day, rain or shine, in high heels, bright 1980’s tights and funky dresses. When you meet her, you might think she is Hotel Zed personified.
The winner will be announced at the Greater Victoria Business Awards gala on April 20, 2017.
