What is Lunar New Year Anyway?
Officially falling on January 29, 2025, on the Gregorian calendar, the Lunar New Year (also known as Chinese New Year) marks the turn of the lunisolar calendar for many Asian and Southeast Asian countries. According to the Chinese calendar, it will be the year 4723 upon this week’s new moon!
Each year is represented by one of 12 Chinese zodiac animals, and 2025 is slithering in as the Year of the Snake. So what does the snake represent? In Chinese astrology, the Snake symbolizes wisdom, intuition, and transformation. People born in Snake years (2025, 2013, 2001, 1989, 1977, 1965…) are said to be intelligent, charming, and mysterious, much like the creature itself.

The Year of the Snake is forecasted to bring opportunities for personal growth, strategic thinking, and spiritual development. We could all use a bit of snake energy this year, right?
