Tk'emlups Pow Wow - July 31 to Aug 1, 2010
The Kamloopa Pow Wow brings together 1,300 performers, competitors, arts and crafts people, and more than 15,000 spectators to this three-day annual First Nations event in Kamloops. combining athletic compe-titions, singing, dancing, and food as more than 30 bands from Western Canada and the Northern US gather for the event. Adams River Salmon Run - Oct 01 - Oct 31,
In October of 2010, 15 million Fraser River sockeye salmon will return home to British Columbia after spending two years out in the Pacific Ocean. The Adams River is located between the Adams Lake and Shuswap Lakes, about a 40 minute drive from Kamloops. The crimson salmon are easily seen in the river at the Roderick Haig-Brown Provincial Park where viewing platforms and walking paths have been established for many visitors to enjoy this natural attraction.
