Recently Mandy Farmer, President of the Accent Inn BC Hotel Chain put together a team of Head Office staff to support and participate in the Power to Play Adventure race. Several Accent Inns, staff being the big family that we are, decided to help raise money for the cause with the benefit that if we made our fundraising goal, Terry Farmer Founder and Chairman of Accent Inns would spend time cleaning rooms.

Cracked ribs, a paramedic visit for a possible concussion, an infected rope burn, and day after day of sore tender muscles spanning the entire body (legs, arms, abs… even fingers?!)… all a result of almost 5 hours of mud soaked agony at the Power to Play Adventure race on May 2nd.

Survivors – Accent Inn team and Power to Play
Monday, May 17th, 2010Several months ago Mandy Farmer, the President of Accent Inns put the word out that she was looking for volunteers to participate in the Power to Play adventure race. The race is in support of the great work done by the Power to Be organization with challenges designed by Anthony Bishop who also designs for the TV shows Survivor and the Amazing race. Always having community spirit and a sense of adventure it didn’t take long for several volunteers to come forth from the Head office staff and so was born the Accent Inn “Dusters”. The intrepid volunteers (or sacrifices depending on your perspective) were Dave Splawski, Chris Knight, John Espley and our “fearless leader” Mandy Farmer.
