So here we are coming up on another Remembrance Day. I’ve previously written about the importance of not only remembering those who given their lives but also thanking those who have or are putting their lives in harm’s way all to protect us. Our way of life. This year let’s look at Remembrance Day with another perspective.
Let me preface this by saying I’m not a professor, philosopher or any other professional that would be dedicated to the understanding of cultural and or significant celebrations. So who am I to comment? A proud Canadian citizen, someone who’s lost family members due to conflict, a person that has had the opportunity to connect with veterans, serving military, legion members and those who take special care of those who served. “Accent Inns continues to recognize the great sacrifices made by our fallen heroes, veterans and active personnel. We are very proud of the incredible work that the Royal Canadian Legion does in our communities,” says Mandy Farmer, CEO of Accent Inns. (more…)
For several years now Accent Inns has been a supporter of The Royal Canadian Legion BC/Yukon Command. This past weekend the Accent Inn BC hotel chain was honored with a plaque recognizing our partnership. Mr. Dave Sinclair, President of The Royal Canadian Legion BC/Yukon, presented John Espley on behalf of Accent Inns with award and several kind words at the legions Britannia branch (very close to the Accent Inn Victoria hotel). Why is it important that Accent Inns works with such a group…..
The Royal Canadian Legion is a very special organization in that it has not only a long history but serves a wide and diversified role in our communities. The first thing that may come to mind is veteran’s services and the poppy campaign.
