Call of Duty: Ghosts gets a much needed update with the release of Onslaught, the first of four planned DLC packs for the game. The new content requires the full version of Ghosts to play and offers up a plethora of content including four new maps, a dual mode weapon, and a new episode of the alien invasion game, Extinction. For me Ghosts was filled with frustration on the multi play side as I found many maps were too large and encouraged camping, which as anyone who has been spawn killed numerous times in a row will tell you, leads quickly to frustration. As a long time gamer that went from the early home consoles to the PC for my gaming needs, I can appreciate just how much things have changed since the days of the Atari 2600 and first Nintendo system.
While I still prefer the PC for the majority of my gaming, I do own and play on the consoles mainly for exclusives and a change of pace. With that being said, I have not been a fan of the trend of micro-transactions and pay to play model that has become commonplace in many games. I appreciate the growing costs of game development, but if you are asking for $59.99 for a game, to me it is wrong to charge people for in game items and for the “privilege” of being able to play online and against other players. With the worldwide impact of FIFA at an all-time high, EA Sports has captured the majesty of the sport of Soccer with the amazing FIFA 14. The game is available for the PC, Playstation 3, and Xbox 360 systems and is due soon for the next generation consoles.
While I played Soccer in High School I will admit that my knowledge of the professional game is limited as names such as Pele, Beckham, and Donovan are the players that I would be able to identify the easiest. Regardless of your level of skill and experience, FIFA 14 has something for you from eye-popping graphics to the most realistic action and player options of any soccer game to date. (more…)
