Back in July, Donna Price ( Regional Sales Manager Sports and Groups for Accent Inns) and a few friends had a special opportunity to visit the SOS Children’s Village, Ennerdale just outside of Johannesburg. This is a look at their trip and experiences….
It was a beautifully kept place for almost 200 children who come from different circumstances (orphaned or lack of family care). They integrate the children in the community in Schooling, projects and prepare the kids to be self sufficient once they leave the village. The children were well taken care of in a home-style setting. In addition to the children, they also have small homes for the retired house mothers or “aunties”. We met a couple of them – one 62 years and one 86 years old. (more…)
The Vancouver Canadians Baseball Club will host its inaugural Scotiabank Vancouver Canadians Baseball Foundation Hot Stove Luncheon featuring the Toronto Blue Jays on Friday, January 21st (1180 W. Hastings Street) starting at 12:00pm.

Women Making a Difference recently held their 5th Annual Tee Cup Charity Golf Tournament (www.teecupgolf.com) , sponsored in part by Accent Inns (www.accentinns.com) at Country Meadows Golf Course. Women Making a Difference members, Christine Campbell, Janet Clousten and Donna Price got together 51/2 years ago at a conference aimed at helping at the community level and started this event to raise money for a local charity.
Monies raised Women Making a Difference are used for families in need of counseling.
Recently the Accent Inns sales team, Donna Price, Helen Wright, Julia Fraser and Kim Jones set out on a 3,000 km journey to re-position 2 Fraserway RV camper trucks from Vancouver to Whitehorse, making sales calls along the way.
First of all we would like to thank Fraserway RV for setting us up in their lovely brand new truck and campers, our homes away from home! The 2011 Ford 450 Supercab trucks were not only spacious and comfortable but they were very easy for us large truck novice gals to drive! (and the talk of the towns as we rolled in.) (more…)
