Melinda Jolley from Tartan Public Relations, panelist for the 2010 Charity in Changing times series

This is the Second year that Accent Inns InnAid program has sponsored the Charity in Changing times seminar series.

One of the highlights of my year so far has been spending the morning at the Victoria Accent Inns’ Charity in Changing Time event with a room full of not-for-profit organizations wanting to learn more about how to effectively tell their stories through traditional and on-line media, how to increase their on-line presence, and how to better communicate with their volunteers. The Olympics and Our Values

Ahhhh, home sweet home after two glorious weeks spent at the Olympics.

Someone asked me the other day, “What is the biggest thing the Olympics have done for you?”  Well, aside from the obvious month of phenomenal business we experienced in our Richmond and Burnaby locations, the Olympics have been surprisingly great for helping us define our values. more about values

Where were you when the Canadians Won Gold?

Monday, March 1st, 2010

All of us at Accent Inns are  so excited and proud of all of our Canadian Athletes whether they won a medal or not.

As an avid hockey fan my question to you  our viewers….where were you when the Canadians Women or Men’s hockey team won Gold?

I was at home for both games and my poor wife and daughter had to put up with my loud Cheers and Jeers throughout the games ( especially at a certain 25 seconds before the end of regualtion play…).

Apparently I yelled so loud when we won that I scared the Dog and the Guinea pig both…

After the Men’s team won gold it was so cool to see people on our street running out of their houses shouting and yelling and waving Canadian Flags.  I know it’s just a game but I can honestly say I felt such a level of pride being a Canadian at that moment. Congrats to Vancouver and Whistler and everyone who put together one great event in Vancouver 2010!

John Espley, Business Development Manager, Accent Inns.

Accent Inns Canuck Duck makes preparations

Accent Inns Canuck Duck

When I visited the Travel medical Clinic they forgot to do one important test – a psychiatric assessment. Nobody in their right mind would voluntarily spend 16 days walking uphill wearing hiking boots, multiple layers of clothing and a backpack until they get to a place that’s really cold and there is very little oxygen! They should have an immunization to stop people doing such things.
