Schools are a central part of our communities

This is a story that really stands out from the  pack. A story of how a kind gesture can mean so much. Recently our Accent Inn Vancouver Airport hotel in Richmond BC welcomed the South Okanagan Secondary School Field Hockey Team. This in itself is not out of the ordinary as we welcome and host many school sports teams. Vancouver Canadians Baseball Club announce exciting promotions

The Vancouver Canadians Baseball Club will mark the 60th anniversary of Scotiabank Field at Nat Bailey Stadium with one of the most exciting promotional schedules in franchise history.

Opening Night is Friday, June 17th at 7:05pm out at Scotiabank Field at Nat Bailey Stadium as the C’s welcome the Yakima Bears.

Fans will be dazzled with the most impressive Superstar Series in recent memory as the BC Sports Hall of Fame will present five (5) former Toronto Blue Jays including soon-to-be National Baseball Hall of Fame member Roberto Alomar (June 28th).  Along with Alomar, the C’s will welcome Lloyd Moseby (June 20th), Kelly Gruber (July 2nd), Ed Sprague (August 4th), and Jesse Barfield (August 15th).

The longtime tradition continues as fans can soak up the sunshine during one of our nine (9) Power Smart ‘Nooners presented by BC Hydro.  Gates will open at noon with all Power Smart ‘Nooners set for 1:05pm.

Silver Medal Winner part of the Accent Inns Family

Alex Fraser, son of Julia Fraser, wins silver at the BC summer Games

This July Alex Fraser, son of the famous Julia Fraser (Regional Sales Manager for Accent Inns Kelowna and Kamloops) won a silver medal at the BC Summer Games in Langley. Alex played for the Thompson-Okanagan Team which finished 1st in their pool which earned them a semi-final game against Vancouver Island. In the semi-final game, they defeated Vancouver Island 8-7 (tough for Accent Inn Victoria staff routing for the Vancouver Island team). “It was a thrilling game and it was probably the best the Thompson-Okanagan Team has ever played”, said Julia Fraser, Regional Sales Manager and proud Mom. In the Championship Final for the Gold, they lost a heartbreaker to Fraser River/Delta 6-3 (a tough loss for our Accent Inn Vancouver Airport staff)

I am writing this from Canada where I have returned safe and sound – well maybe not quite sound.  I picked up a stomach bug at the end of the trip and so the last few days weren’t that much fun.  However, the doctor in Hong Kong gave me the right drugs and I am now back to 100% (or as close as a duck can come to 100%).
