Help Support the Salvation Army at the CHEK TV Drive Thru

December 11th will see the “cast and crew” of CHEK TV descend upon the Accent Inn in Victoria BC. Just like Santa’s Elves’ they will be working hard to to prepare and host the 20th annual CHEK Christmas Drive Thru.

You like grabbing a bite or a coffee at your local drive thru so why not make your donations that way too!

YouTube Preview Image

Where else will you find TV personalities and volunteers alike “hustling and bustling” around to unload your donations of goods for the Salvation Army. Sold everything in a garage sale?.. no worries cash donations are more than welcome, in fact a Salvation Army kettle will be on hand and it sure looks great to see it when it’s filled with bills!

Having fun at the CHEK TV Drive Thru

Having fun at the CHEK TV Drive Thru

Making the experience even better you’ll have the Salvation Army band serenading you with Christmas Carols. Rumor has it that this night is so special, Santa himself has scheduled an appearance! (why is it we never see Jim Beatty and Santa at the same time…..could it be..hmmmm?)

Please join us December 11th from 5 – 7pm at the Accent Inn at the corner of Blanshard and Cloverdale and help support those in need!

These folks did far more than just dump ice water on their heads. The following post is an excerpt from the ALS Cycle for Hope post event wrap-up for 2014.  Accent Inns has been thrilled to support these awesome volunteers!   Each year, for the past three years, the Cycle of Hope Society proudly offers a variety of exciting fundraising events and fun community/family cycling events in Kelowna and Victoria.  (more…)

The Passing of a Hotel

Thursday, May 1st, 2014

By John Espley.

small logoA few days back we introduced you to Accent Inns new cousin Hotel Zed. Today is the day when Hotel Zed officially comes into being but that also means we are saying goodbye to an old friend, The Blue Ridge Inn. Other than the general outline of the building, the transformation into Hotel Zed essentially removes all traces of Blue Ridge.

Think of it as saying goodbye to an old car. It did you well for many years. Only required servicing at the appropriate times but alas, the mileage was high and the style, well let’s just say not really anything that will ever obtain that “timeless” quality. (more…)
